Wildcats Thunder Football/Recruiting Analyst
Last night everyone saw the implications of a roster that has been recruited ineffectively. Lest we forget, this program has been unranked for several years now. Randolph Morris is gone. UK's two best players are true freshman. Gillispie is a big man for taking full responsibility. Frankly, I find that very refreshing for a change. But does anyone who watched this game actually believe Gillispie could have gotten out the clipboard, designed a few clever plays, and changed the outcome?
This team is tired and flat right now from a brutal practice schedule. They have no baseline game besides the freshman Patterson, and they have been devastated by injuries.
Now it's time for UK fans to support Coach Gillispie while he spends the next 12-18 months trying to re-interest top prospects in UK's basketball program again.
I don't frankly know why anyone thought this roster would get fixed over night, but I have been trying to say here since April that UK's 2007-08 season will be a transitional year.
