The Never Ending Washington Saga!

It's obvious that many Wildcats Thunder members disagree over whether UK should take Washington if he is eligible. I understand both sides and why they feel strongly about taking or not taking Washington.

On one hand, more and more UK fans are beginning to truly understand how weak and inexperienced UK's frontline is this year and would like Washington to join Patterson to add some much needed talent and muscle. From all reports, Washington would bring a great deal of athletic ability, talent and a much needed rebounding force to UK's frontline.

On the other side.....there is a legitimate concern regarding Washington's academics and even if eligible....would he stay eligible at UK. As we all know, colleges are now penalized scholarships if the players fail to meet certain academic requirements. Secondly, Washington's attitude and some actions while he was in high school....such as refusing to re-enter a championship game.....at the very least....gives coaches pause as to bringing Washington into the locker room.

Obviously, BCG and his staff have much more in depth knowledge concerning these issues with Washington than any of us.
There has been all kinds of speculation regarding UK's interest in Washington and visa versa. Who really knows? BCG and his staff might be very interested in Washington or they may have decided that the academic and attitude risks posed by Washington are too great.

So while we wait to see if Washington is even eligible....the WT debate will continue.

As for my opinion, as much as I would love to see a talent like Washington on UK's frontline this year, I feel the academic and attitude issues present an unacceptable risk to the program. However, if BCG, who as I said has a better handle on these issues, decides that Washington is worth the risk.....then I will support BCG.....after all, that's why he gets paid 2 million plus.....to make the tough decisions.

This whole discuusion could very well be mute.....Washington might be ineligible......UK may have decided to not persue Washington......Washington may decide to commit to Southern Cal were he initially committed. Who knows! In any case, I respect posters on both sides of the issue. We should learn something in the near future. As always, recruiting is never dull....stay tuned!
