UK vs Texas in 2014 SEC/Big 12 Challenge


Just when Kentucky’s 2014-15 nonconference schedule looked like it couldn’t get any better, along came Texas. UK will host the Longhorns on Dec. 5 at Rupp Arena as a part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, joining an already loaded 2014-15 nonconfernece schedule for the Wildcats that includes matchups with UCLA in the CBS Sports Classic in Chicago, Kansas in Indianapolis in the Champions Classic, Louisville in the Derby City, and home games against North Carolina and Providence.

The Kentucky-Texas game, scheduled for a Friday night, is one of 10 games in the second annual SEC/Big 12 Challenge. UK played Baylor at AT&T Stadium in the inaugural season in 2013-14.

All games will be televised on one of the ESPN platforms (ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU).

UK vs UCLA in the 2014 CBS Sports Classic Inaugural

Kentucky will play UCLA in the CBS Sports Classic in Chicago next December, the network announced Wednesday.

The event, a three-year round-robin series of double-headers, will feature North Carolina and Ohio State as well as UK and UCLA.

The event debuts at the United Center in Chicago on Dec. 20. North Carolina will play Ohio State at 1 p.m. EDT followed by Kentucky against UCLA at about 3:30 p.m. EDT.

The CBS Sports Classic moves to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.. on Dec. 19, 2015. Kentucky will play Ohio State, and North Carolina will play UCLA.

It finishes the initial three-year run in Las Vegas on Dec. 16, 2016 — Kentucky vs. North Carolina, and Ohio State vs. UCLA.

These four schools have combined to win 25 national championships and are among the winningest college basketball programs of all-time.
